Does vaping stain your teeth?
Vaping will not stain your teeth as it does not contain the tar that is found in cigarettes. Nicotine will not have any effect on the colour of your teeth. There was a recent study by British American Tobacco, which exposed cows teeth to cigarette smoke over 2 weeks. They quickly became discoloured, however those exposed to vapour had no changes.
How does vaping affect your overall oral health?
Traditional straight ciggies contain about 6000 different chemicals, which vaping does not. In fact vaping is now said to be 95% safer than smoking cigarettes.
There has been an argument from dentists that suggests how vaping with nicotine can restrict blood flow to the gums and soft tissue, causing them the recede. However, there isn’t enough data or a scientific study to back this up.
Remember though, smoking cigarettes is not only dangerous for your oral health, it is also known to cause cancer and problems with the heart and lungs. A shiny white smile is just another reason to quit the smokes as vaping won’t stain your teeth.
