Nicotine in itself isn’t the problem, in many ways. In large doses it is poisonous, and it only has addictive properties when combined with chemicals found in smoke. This makes there no real risk of vaping e-liquid which contains nicotine. Of course, there is the risk that if you’re vaping a strength that is too high you can feel dizzy and a little sick.
Why are people vaping without nicotine, is it bad for you?
In the long term many vapers aim to wean themselves of nicotine by gradually reducing the nicotine MG. If you are a heavy smoker then you may start off with a juice which has the highest nicotine content of 18mg. Over time, the smoker turned vaper, can reduce their e-juice nicotine content right down to 3mg and finally 0mg. This leads people to question whether vaping without nicotine is bad for you.
Other people who might be interested in vaping without nicotine are those who are trying to learn tricks. As taking in too much nicotine can leave you feeling a little unwell it might be best to practice your tricks with a vape juice that is zero nicotine. Also, e-juice which is nicotine free creates dense, large clouds- ideal for tricksters.
One thing that could make vaping without nicotine bad for you is if you are just starting to quit smoking and move on to the vape, and you reduce your nicotine too quick. This could lead to withdrawal symptoms. If you vape nic free you also won’t get the throat hit which is desired by many ex smokers. Both of these factors could cause you to go back to tobacco which would impact your health.
So, is vaping without nicotine bad for you? It is 95% safer than smoking cigarettes, however if you are used to nicotine it will be best to gradually reduce your MG before you go cold turkey, just to ensure that you dont head back to buying a packet of smokes.
