Vape and Juice UK Reviews the 50 watt istick cloud chaser January 30 2015, 0 Comments

Hot on the heels of the 20W (20 watt eleaf) and the sub-ohm 30watt istick is the big brother of the family; the 50watt iStick Eleaf. Here's the Vape & Juice review.

Still palm sized, still packing a great battery life and still just as hard to get hold of as moon rocks. Vape and Juice in our vape and ecig shops in Enfield, North London, Essex and Kent; are rolling the powerful box mod out to compete with the Pioneer4You IPV2 lines we stock.

So what makes the 50w iStick any more impressive than the previous Eleafs?

  • Increased voltage output - 2v to 10v
  • Huge battery - 4400 mAh
  • Side charging port
  • Rated resistance range - 0.2ohms to 5ohms
  • Rated output wattage - 5W to 50W
  • Temperature alarm function

So what do these features mean? The long battery life means sub-ohm vaping needn't last a few hours only; recharging takes 5 hours to refresh the unit fully. As before, this can be done with the USB; whether the side port 'for convenience', makes any real difference to the user experience is debatable, but its certainly not a negative of any sort. Our guess is, they ran out of other features to add.

The real beauty of the device, is in retaining it's small size but maintaining and improving on it's battery life and power. The IPV2 range gives a 60W + output rating, but it houses a single 18650 battery, meaning 3100 mAh is likely the highest power battery you are probably going to pick up with any ease. By allowing resistance levels down to 0.2 which the device can fire; running any number of rebuilds and sub tanks; dual coils and more, isn't likely to be an issue. This means it's a device that moves into the advanced/professional end of the spectrum. Frankly if you need to hit 0.1ohms then you're just being fussy! ;)

With other box mods and sub ohm devices, the high wattage used, the battery life drains quickly, particularly if you have a 25-30 watt setting and are operating an Aspire Atlantis at 0.5ohms for example, this 50w Eleaf at 4400 mAh cuts that problem right down. Add to this the overheating safety feature that suspends the device above 70oC for 5 seconds, and you have a well thought out, sensible device to chuck that vapour... cloud chasing if you will.
