We review 3 great vape pens

Are you looking for a mouth to lung device that is a step up from your vape starter kit? If you are looking for something new, but don’t fancy a box mod, then a vape pen might be an ideal choice. Generally, mouth to lung vape pens are easy to use, provide a great vape and are portable.

In this blog, we are going to share a little insight into three stick vape pens to help you decide which will be right for you. We will weigh up the pros and cons of each and tell you everything you’ll need to know about the device.

Falcon Kit by Horizon

Falcon Horizon

The Falcon Kit is a sleek looking device, powering up to 80 watts from a single 18650 battery. The external battery can be charged externally or using the USB port on the side of the device.

Unlike other vape pen devices, the Falcon has a small display screen. The screen allows you to:

  • View watts
  • See Voltage
  • Pre heat
  • Check battery life
  • See the resistance

You can quickly scroll through as you adjust the watts, which is a real pro. If you push the up button and the fire button it allows you to preheat it, however, this isn't necessary if you aren’t worried about that.

Let’s dive a little deeper into the pros and cons of the Falcon Kit

  • The blue, rainbow, purple and stainless are fingerprint magnets
  • It will drain batteries quickly, you’ll need to carry a spare in a protective case, not just loose in your pocket (read our blog on battery safety >)
  • No temperature control

  • Pocket-sized at 150mm by 28mm Diameter
  • Fast scroll through watts
  • Press fire 5 times to lock, or push up and down together
  • Simple to use and a great entry to sub-ohm MTL vaping
  • Great flavour and cloud production
  • Fires to 0.1 any lower and it won’t fire
  • No rattles! Excellent build quality

Is it for me?

This device might be for you if you are looking to improve the quality of your vape kit and prefer something smaller over a chunky box vape. You might also be more interested in the Falcon from Horizon if you want to build your own coils and rebuildables with a mechanical mod style system.

  • 1 x 6ml Falcon King tank (includes M-Dual coil)
  • 1 x Falcon M1+ coil

  • 1 x Bag of O rings
  • 1 x USB cable
  • 1 x User manual and warranty card

Vandy Vape Bonza Kit

Vandy Vape Bonza Kit Vape Pen

The Bonza Kit comes in at a slightly cheaper price than the Falcon. It is another portable vape pen that combines a Bonza mech mod with a Bonza V1.5 RDA. The device does not have a display screen. This makes it super simple to use, as there are no adjustments to make. However, this may have its cons for some. Let’s look at the pros and cons of the Vandy Vape Bonza Kit.

  • No display to see the battery life
  • Not ideal if you don’t want to learn about battery safety

  • Amazing flavour and cloud production
  • Everything lines up making it very aesthetically pleasing!
  • Advanced airflow system
  • Simple and easy to build on the deck

  • 1 x User Manual
  • 1 x 18650 Battery Adaptor
  • 1 x 510 Adapter

SMOK Stick 80w Kit

Smok Stick 80w

The SMOK Stick 80w Kit is probably the more simpler of the three kits. You won’t be building your own coils with this vape pen. However, while it might be simple, it is a solid kit that packs a punch. It would be the ideal step up from a starter kit and into sub-ohm, MTL vaping.

You’ll enjoy huge clouds and high VG e-liquids, while keeping things simple. As with all devices, there are a few pros and cons, but keep in mind that a con for you might be a pro for someone else!

  • No display to adjust power or see battery life
  • Various colours could be fingerprint magnets

  • Simple to use
  • Suitable for high VG flavours
  • Internal 2800mAh battery (This might be a con if you prefer external batteries!)
  • Discrete size at 94mm x 24.5mm
  • 5-80 watts

This device might be the ideal choice for you if you want something a little higher quality than your average starter kit.

There are 3 different vape pens that might be of interest if you are looking for something pocket-sized but decent. Box mods don’t suit everyone, you might find that a vape pen with the ability to build your own coils is the ideal choice. Or you might just want a step up from your starter kit to access premium eliquids and enjoy huge clouds.
