Trying to make a decision on a vape pen?

As a newly quit smoker, or someone looking to quit, you will probably be researching kits. You might feel overwhelmed by the different types and brands. Should you get a vape pen, a mod or a pod? What's the difference?

A vape pen is a popular choice for someone who has just quit smoking for a number of reasons.

In this blog, we are going to share some info on vape pens including what they are and why you might use them. We will also compare a vape pen to a mod device, giving you the pros and cons of each, to help you make a decision.

What is a vape pen?

A vape pen is a vape device shaped like, you guessed it, a pen. It is long and thin, usually with a fire button on the side. These devices evolved from the cig-a-like kits which first come to market.

Why are vape pens popular?

Vape pens are a popular choice for many reasons. For one, they are super easy to use. This suits someone who isn’t looking for lots of tech, they just want to quit smoking and enjoy a decent vape.

Furthermore, vape pens are well within budget. While they vary in price, they shouldn’t cost as much as a big mod with all the bells and whistles.

Vape pens are also portable. They won’t bulk out your pocket or weigh down your bag. This type of device is discreet too and more often than not, despite a few exceptions, will they produce huge vapor.

Unless you buy a sub-ohm vape pen, such as the SMOK Vape Pen 22, you will be best off using high PG e-liquids. Make sure you always check which vape juice is best suited to your device to avoid leaks and unnecessary gunk build up.

What is a box mod device?

A mod is a chunkier bit of kit. They often appeal to those who have been vaping a while and like to control and tailor their vape.

This type of kit will have a screen and buttons which allow you to make changes to watts, temperature and more. Some people even choose to build coils using a box mod.

A box mod will have a larger battery to power the high watts. Sometimes these batteries are external and brought separately.

A vape pen is great for a newly ex-smoker. The way in which you inhale replicates the act of smoking as you draw the vape into your mouth and then your lungs. It is super easy to use with no buttons or adjustments to be made.
