Battery safety for electronic cigarettes and vaping - 18650 Review UK

18650 Battery safety how to spot a fake

Have you heard about those crazy exploding hoverboards lately? A few months ago it was us evildoers in the Vape world that were ticking time bombs according to mainstream media; thankfully Back to the Future inspired segways have taken a bit of the heat off..... sorry about the pun.

But what's going on? Lithium batteries is the answer. Batteries used incorrectly can cause problems, whether it's an ecig, a laptop, a mobile phone and yes, even those two-wheeled tea trays you see lingering on the fringes of skate parks and town centers.

Vaping devices use lithium batteries mostly and providing the right battery is used for the right resistance coil, you shouldn't have any problems.

Batteries have a maximum discharge (output) they can safely maintain, each battery is different. Below is a little chart that allows you to cross-check your operating voltage with your coil resistance to let you determine what amount of amp your battery will be called upon to provide.

If the number is higher than what your 18650 etc can dish out, then increase the resistance or get the right tool for the job.
